While we are receiving very sad news from the camps, of more than 11000 houses and tents completely destroyed, and 60000 people displaced, we confirm that SaharaMarathon in February is still planned.
The event will help the saharawis economically, by using all the collected funds to help the families buying back the basic items they have lost and to rebuild houses and schools.
But it will also help the moral, by bringing many visitors and showing the saharawis that they have not been forgotten, and that this disaster won’t leave them isolated.
It will be thougher, for the volunteers who will help organize the event, and for the participants, but we’ll all be there.
